Continuing to helping more disabled people to discover activities

imin is excited to announce an extension to our work with the award winning Parasport platform: https://parasport.org.uk/

Parasport is a physical activity campaign developed by the British Paralympic Association and sponsored by Toyota - with the goal of inspiring more disabled people to be more active, and providing easy to use tools to find local disability and accessible activities.

After a competitive tender process in 2020, imin was selected as the OpenActive aggregation platform that would help transform Parasport from a static listing of clubs and activites, to a live searchable database of accurate information about inclusive activities.

As another powerful demonstration of the broad use of OpenActive, imin worked with Parasport to develop a series of filtering rules to only show relevant activities for the Parasport audience - filtering out thousands of activities that would not be suitable or useful to display on the site.

We also provided hands on support for the digital agency to integrate their existing platform into the imin search API, as well as to help them publish their own open data feed so that the search functionality.

In the run up to the Paralympic games in summer 2021, we also helped the BPA team to deliver a powerful outreach campaign, reaching NGBs, activity providers, local authorities and more - explaining the benefits of OpenActive, how to get more activities visible in Parasport, and helping them through the process of opening more data.
